Why sunflowers?

No flower lifts my soul like sunflowers. 
They are bright, cherry and as warm as the sweet summer sun. Sunflowers symbolise adoration, loyalty and longevity. 

These flowers are unique in that they have the ability to provide energy in the form of nourishment and vibrancy, these are attributes that mirror the sun. Sunflowers are known as happy flowers. I'm a happy child that was born on the weirdest day of December, sunflowers are a representation of my heart.

 Instead of giving away a bouquet of roses, as a romantic gift, why not share sunflowers? Not only are they rare however a bunch of these represent warmth and lasting love. For me personally I think sunflowers are flowers that are able to connect to the soulful part of a person. As soon as I see someone with a sunflower in their hair or anywhere else, I immediately picture that person's soul as pure as the sunflower, it just carries a lot of potential for me.

 I love its beautiful friendly yellow rays, I love its charming welcoming open face and its strong balancing stem. All these characteristics I am comfortable enough to say they mirror me as well.


What are they used for?

Sunflowers are used for healing, prayers, medication, colour dyes and sunflower seeds which are filled with nutrition. They are used to indicate purity, from what I know.

Why a sunflower as a designer?

Sunflowers carry a yellow fun and happy colour, and in most works of artist and designers including myself, yellow carries a meaning of happiness and positivity. To me as a designer, sunflowers mean so much because they make me stay positive and composed when I think of them through hardship and failure in my life. 

Since they represent the sun, through the depression I encountered, a friend of mine sent one sunflower, just one. That flower come with a note that said, if sunflowers are able to stay positive and still grown to it's beautiful time in a field filled with it's own kind, why can't I do the same, therefore these flowers made me stay true to myself till today, and that had an impact on how I design.
