Van Gogh archetypes
Van Gogh follows all the classic traits of the artist archetype, a creative genius on the edge of madness that lived itinerant and often a difficult life pursuing his own vision. Van Gogh’s style developed over his course of his shorter life and was highly influential on the 20th century art, with its bold colours, raw beauty and emotional directness. (Inspectorinsight, 2012) 

What sunflowers teach
Nurturing a sunflower is like nurturing a beautiful human being, taking care of a sunflower seed, you get to watch it grown. The way in which the sunflower grows it grows from its stalk, its neck. One side of the stalk grows and the sunflower bends towards the sun, when the sun rotates the other stalk grows. Sunflowers never complain about a bent stem, too fat centre not too long petals, therefore this teaches people to love themselves for who they are. A sunflower grows on one side of its stalk, often at the end of the day one side of its stem is longer than the other this is why a sunflower can be bent to one side. During the afternoon and night a sunflower grows on the other side of its stalk, this teaches to be patient to flourish in a different directions, it might happen overnight. (Buckstaff, 2017)

(Tumblr.com, 2018) Why sunflowers? No flower lifts my soul like sunflowers.  They are bright, cherry and as warm as the sweet summer sun. Sunflowers symbolise adoration, loyalty and longevity.  These flowers are unique in that they have the ability to provide energy in the form of nourishment and vibrancy, these are attributes that mirror the sun. Sunflowers are known as happy flowers. I'm a happy child that was born on the weirdest day of December, sunflowers are a representation of my heart. Instead of giving away a bouquet of roses, as a romantic gift, why not share sunflowers? Not only are they rare however a bunch of these represent warmth and lasting love. For me personally I think sunflowers are flowers that are able to connect to the soulful part of a person. (Johnson, 2018) Eric White Eric White paintings are referenced from 20th-century film, music and pop culture backed by consummate draftsmanship and painterly finesse to subvert and recode the dominant narratives of contemporary society. His approach to figuration is both beautiful and disturbing.
